Each new season ofFortnitecomes with a new battle pass for players to progress through for unique rewards, but this latest pass and its images have already undergone a slight change.FortniteChapter 4 Season 2 began earlier this month, and it includes numerous changes to the map, weapon rotation, and mobility items, but the fresh battle pass has already had to be adjusted.Because everyFortnitebattle pass features its own cast of characters, the battle royale add-on is often advertised with various items and skins that can be unlocked by playing the game with the DLC activated. Epic Games has also taken to revealing more aspects of the battle pass throughseasonalFortnitereveal trailersthat show these items being used in gameplay footage to give fans an idea of how the cosmetics look in action. Though the latest battle pass trailer has avoided some necessary tweaks, the images used on theFortnitemain page and in-game shop weren’t so lucky.RELATED:Fortnite Bug Causes Trees to DisappearKnown TwitterFortniteleaker iFireMonkey has revealed that Epic Games made a minor change to its imagery for theFortniteChapter 4 Season 2 battle pass featuring Mystica andAttack on Titanhero Eren Yeager. TheFortniteleaker shared two screenshots illustrating the differences, with one curiously including the text “WIP” on Mystica’s outstretched arm, and the other removing these letters. It’s currently unclear why the character had letters typically associated with a work in progress overlapping her, but the battle pass character has also been changed to coincide with this removal, focusing on one of the upgrade options that can be unlocked by completing moreFortnitechallenges.

Similar tootherFortnitebattle passesbefore it, the Chapter 4 Season 2 images show the golden badge in the center, with the season’s general color scheme emitting from it with lines of white in between. In front of the badge and the two unlockable skins in the image is a stack ofFortniteV-bucks which can be unlocked by leveling up in the battle pass and used on item shop cosmetics if not on the next seasonal pass. Although Mystica was turned green with the removal of the WIP on her side of the image, theAttack on Titancrossover hero remains untouched like the rest of the assets used in theFortnitepages.

Because few players commented on the Chapter 4 Season 2 battle pass issue, it’s unknown just how many people purchased the add-on without a second glance at thenewFortnitecharacter. Given that Epic Games is known for teasing future skins, collabs, events, and more through Easter eggs, it’s possible that the WIP text is referencing something to come in the future, but it’s likely an acronym for work in progress.
